Fees apply for the use on INKCINCT Cartoons by academic institutions such as schools, TAFE colleges and universities, except in very limited circumstance as explained on the Free use of cartoons webpage.  These fees are divided into two categories :-


1. DIRECT FEES
Direct fees apple for cartoons taken from this website for publication in academic textbooks that are sold to students, the public or any other organisation.  Prices vary depending on the size of the publication, how often cartoons are published and the number of cartoons used, but can be as little as $50 AUD a cartoon.  More information on pricing is available upon request.  See the CONTACT webpage for contact details.

2. INDIRECT FEES
The Australian Copyright Act 1968 (the Act) allows 10% of text, including text from a book or website to be reproduced and/or communicated by any Australian educational institution for its educational purposes provided that the educational institution (or the body that administers it) has given a Notice to Copyright Agency Limited (CAL) under part VB of the Act.  

Many INKCINCT cartoons have been published in educational books or journals.  Members of an academic institution that is covered by the Australian Copyright Act  1968 can copy a section of a book that includes INKCINCT cartoons, as per the act.

Members of an academic institution that is covered by the Australian Copyright Act  1968  can download cartoons directly from this website  for academic use as long as the publication they are used in are not sold to students, the public or any other organisation.
